Todd Simmons, Director of Music
Todd Simmons is an avid performer, piano teacher, and choir director from Princeton, NJ who can frequently be heard performing across the region on piano, harpsichord, and organ. As a piano teacher, Mr. Simmons maintains an independent piano studio of 20 students out of his Princeton home. His piano students have consistently won top honors in local, state, and regional competitions and have been invited to perform in such prestigious venues as Weill Recital Hall, Merkin Hall, The Kosciuszko Foundation Recital Hall, the Kimmel Center, as well as many others.
Mr. Simmons is also the Music Director at the Plainsboro Presbyterian Church in Plainsboro, NJ, as well as the principal accompanist for the middle and high school choral programs in the Hopewell Valley School District, Pennington, NJ. During the summer, he has been an integral part of the faculty in Westminster Choir College's Piano Camp for High School Students having just completed his 22nd year as a teacher and most recently as Director this past Summer.
Prior to moving to Princeton, Mr. Simmons was the Assistant Director and piano instructor at the Westport School of Music in Westport, CT for twelve years, as well as an accompanist for the Fairfield County Children’s Choir in Connecticut. He has held positions as Music Director at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Wallingford, CT and the United Methodist Church of Westport and Weston, Westport, CT. Mr. Simmons has also been a choir director at Ridge High School and Princeton High Schools in New Jersey, as well as at Fairfield High School in Connecticut. He was the Founder and Director of the Women’s Choir at Fordham University in New York City from 2001-2005.
Mr. Simmons holds his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the Eastman School of Music and a Master's degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Southern Mississippi. He also has another Master’s degree in Psychology from Meridian University in Petaluma, California. Mr. Simmons has studied piano with Ingrid Clarfield and Vincent Lenti, and harpsichord with Dana Ragsdale.
